An oriental Christian website has been launched under the auspices of Maronite Patriarch Bechara Rahi in presence of representatives of various heads of Christian denominations based in Lebanon.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - An oriental Christian website has been launched under the auspices of Maronite Patriarch Bechara Rahi in presence of representatives of various heads of Christian denominations based in Lebanon.

The gathering of the Christians of the Orient website was officially launched at a special ceremony at Hotel Le Royal yesterday. Also invited has been the representative of Apostolic Nancio to Lebanon, Cardinal Gabriel Caccia, National News Agency Director, Laure Sleiman Saab, and head of the Christian-Muslim rapprochement Body, Mohammad Sammak.

Taking the word, Patriarch Rahi perceived in the newly-launched website a space for ingathering all Christians of the East. He however, retorted the importance of peaceful coexistence between Christians and Muslims since in his words, our common problems could not be resolved but through rapprochement and coexistence.

Secretary General of the Oriental Christian gathering, Bishop Samir Mazloum, welcomed guests and spoke about need for a space intended for inter-confessional rapports. He concluded that the new website would definitely serve as an appropriate means of cooperation.
